One-and-done training is off the menu
A baked-in learning culture fuels performance, innovation, and growth
We’ve offered full-service learning design since 2009. And the biggest mistake we see in organisations starts at the top. An executive team that thinks they need learning design—but what they really need is a learning strategy.
If it feels like your learning and development efforts are falling flat, you’re not alone. So many organisations see learning as a one-off event. And they end up with training that’s out of context—ignored, forgotten, and utterly pointless.

WHY USE
THE LAB?
WHY USE
THE LAB?
Because the old way of doing L&D is dead. (RIP to boring slide decks and irrelevant workshops.) Organisations are waking up to the fact that if you want real results, you need a learning strategy baked into your culture-not just slapped on top like icing.
At Learning Labs, we’re like that quirky sous chef who knows exactly how to balance creativity with structure. We bring big ideas, proven strategies, and just enough irreverence to keep things interesting. Think: less “corporate consultancy,” more “let’s roll up our sleeves and make something amazing together.”

Let’s Stir Things Up
If your organisation is ready to stop pretending learning is just another tick-box exercise and start creating a culture that actually works, we’re here for it. Let’s chat, plan, and build something your teams will love-and that your organisation will thank you for.

BRAG BAR
WHY WAS THE
LAB STARTED?
At Hungry Minds, we had a lightbulb moment: why stop at creating exceptional learning for our clients when we could also help L&D legends like you thrive in your own workplace? You’re our kindred spirits-fellow learning nerds-and we love nothing more than teaming up with kindreds.
Here’s the thing: we’ve seen plenty of L&D teams like yours doing it tough. You’re the unsung heroes, carrying the weight of rolling out initiatives and making learning the lifeblood of your business. But let’s be real-learning often gets a bad rap, way too many eye-rolls, and not nearly enough support. That needs to change, and that’s why we started this service.

FAQS
An organisational learning strategy is a detailed plan that organisations like yours use to develop an L&D culture. The plan maps out the cohorts that exist in your business, what their unique learning needs are and what strategies and methods of learning would most engage them and motivate them to learn and develop. Having a learning strategy means learning is not developed piecemeal, but rather is unified, on brand and in line with your organisation’s vision and values. Also, our strategies are not just words on a page, they come with what we call a ‘Learning Style Guide’; robust and development-ready learning templates designed to put lofty ideals into practical application.

Culture can most easily be described as the way people like us do things round here. An L&D culture therefore, is the way your organisation approaches learning. Are people rolling their eyes when asked to attend learning, or are they chomping at the bit, keen to dive in? Is learning developed in a systematic, learner-centric way that understands human-centred design, or is it a hodge-podge of PowerPoints and learning artefacts that people are constantly redeveloping because they’re just not quite right?
Learning is the lifeblood of a business, and yet, all too often, it’s neglected. Rather than pumping goodness through the organisation, it’s clogging up arteries, causing the organisation to limp along. A strong L&D culture will inadvertently mean your business thrives.
We certainly can. To give you a glimpse of how we’ve tackled challenges like this in the past, we invite you to explore our case studies page. There, you’ll find a collection of projects spanning various industries. We particularly invite you to look at the work we did with the Department of Justice in Victoria, and MMP in NSW. These were an excellent example of learning strategies that shifted culture.
Collaboration, collaboration and then some more collaboration. We can’t provide you with a cookie-cutter approach in this instance. Culture, like identity, is a personal matter. No two businesses are the same.
However, we have developed some tried and true methods of collaborating that help us get to the key issues quickly. To read more about our process in full, CLICK HERE.
Part of the design of our process is that we work with you on the first few learning projects to road-test the approaches. As lovers of learning, we don’t believe in one-and-done. It’s through reiteration and review, curiosity and courage, tweaking a bit here and leveraging a bit there that the melding of art and science weave their magic to create the end product. If you work with us, you are partnering up for a journey where we stick with you till our work with you is done and you are functioning beautifully without us anymore.
