the short answer

What is a session plan?

A session plan is a facilitator’s blueprint for running a training session. It lays out the learning outcomes, a timed run of activities, facilitator notes on what to say, ask and do, and the materials needed to deliver it.

n

A strong session plan turns a loose agenda into a confident, repeatable workshop, and pairs with the slides and workbook so the whole thing hangs together. Grow it into a full facilitator guide and any trainer can pick it up and run it, again and again.

What we build

Most workshops are just slides read aloud.

A room full of people watching someone narrate bullet points. Ninety slides, zero activities, and a lunch everyone remembers more than the content. When a session has no clear outcome, it fills a day and changes nothing.

n

We design sessions on purpose, like a proper menu. A clear outcome. Activities that get people doing. Slides that stay in their lane. Your facilitator walks in with a tight plan and a room that leans in, and people leave able to do something new. We’ve been making training worth turning up to since 2009.

why hungry minds

Every ingredient earns its place.

Built for behaviour change

Every session starts with what people need to do differently, then works back to the content that gets them there. If it won’t change what happens at work, it doesn’t make the cut.

Grounded in how adults learn

We build on adult learning principles and models like ADDIE, Merrill’s and Bloom’s, so every activity earns its place against a clear, observable outcome.

Activities that pull people in

Discussion, practice, scenarios and a bit of play. Your people do the work in the room, so it sticks long after the biscuits are gone.

Facilitator-ready

Clear timings, talking points and setup notes, so any facilitator can pick up the plan and run a confident session without winging it.

Slides that back the facilitator

Clean, on-brand decks that carry the visuals and cues while the spotlight stays on your facilitator and your people.

You own it

The finished goods and source files are yours. No lock-in, no licence traps, no hostage situation.

Blended learning combines online, self-paced content with live sessions run face-to-face or virtually, so a single program uses more than one mode of delivery. The online part gives learners control over pace and place, while the live part adds the discussion, practice and feedback that are hard to get on a screen. nnA well-designed blend can also extend into on-the-job activities and coaching, so learning continues after the session ends.
Three models are common. The rotation model moves learners between formats such as self-paced modules and live sessions. The flex model runs most learning online with live support on tap. The enriched model adds online resources and activities to traditional in-person training. Most workplace programs mix these to suit the topic and the team.
A focused program is usually ready in 4 to 6 weeks. Larger, multi-module suites take longer. We scope the timeline up front so there are no surprises, and we can run a pilot module first to lock the look and feel before we scale the rest.
You do. Once your final invoice is paid, you own the finished materials, including SCORM or native packages, Word docs, slide decks and source files. The templates, frameworks and methods we bring into the project stay ours, and you are welcome to use them inside the materials we build for you.
Articulate Rise 360 for self-paced eLearning. Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Canva for visuals and video. Dropbox, Zoom and Miro for collaboration. We also set up Learning Management Systems and use analytics tools to keep refining courses.
We build self-paced content in Articulate Rise 360 and Storyline 360, Chameleon Creator and HTML. We design visuals and video in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva and so many other amazing tools on the market. We package as SCORM or native files and test them on your Learning Management System, and we can set up an LMS if you don’t have one yet.
Yes. Hungry Minds is an Australian learning design consultancy with people in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney. So we can sit down with your team in person and get to know how you work. We’ve designed learning since 2009 and happily travel across the country to make it happen.
That’s a normal starting point. Book a short call and we’ll run a light needs analysis to find the real problem, then recommend the right mix of online, live and on-the-job learning. You don’t need a finished plan to talk to us, an idea on a napkin is enough.
Yes. We design presentation decks that back your facilitator up: clean, on-brand slides that carry the visuals and cues while the talking stays with the trainer. You get the editable source files, so your team can tweak and re-run them whenever you like.
